Description
The screams were louder than ever, accompanied by bursts of light and the stench of burning flesh. My ears began ringing until it was the only thing I could hear. My heart felt like it was about to burst, and my breath escaped in short gasps. I broke into a coughing fit, choking, struggling to breathe but my oxygen had been depleted. The flames neared until they danced only inches away from consuming me entirely. It was time to make a decision. Either jump... ... or burn. . . . What if everything you had ever known was a lie? What if life, as we know it, is but a simulation? Six teenagers awake to discover that their entire lives have been the result of experimental programming. Nothing they ever did was real and everyone who had been in their lives ceases to exist. Scientists have been watching and recording their progress in the simulation in attempts to make neurological discoveries on the powers of a virtual realm. However, these experiments are not as innocent as they seem. Something much more sinister may be occurring right under their noses. Can they band together in order to distinguish fantasy from reality or will they fall victim to the simulation once more?
