Chapter One

Hugo Oakland is a borrower. He's lived his entire life within the walls of the Oakland household with his family and doesn't know much else. That is, until Marcia and her little brother move into his home to take care for their sick grandmother. Now, Hugo and his family must tread carefully to survive, if they are to stay hidden from the humans. But with one small slip up, could the world his parents have brought him up in come tumbling down? Is it possible that after years of training, a borrower could be seen?
