In a world without electricity, a refuge system has been formed in Australia. The refuge system is a system of refuges that teach the next generation certain subjects that are necessary for humanity's survival. Among these refuges is Ibisquill Refuge, where lonesome teenager Duncan Parksworth resides. However, one girl changes everything for Duncan when he stumbles upon her one evening near his usual hang out spot and soon learns of a plot to take over the refuge system. Together, they must find the answers they desperately need to stop the plot while trying to find safe havens where they can stay while seeking to complete their quest.
