Prologue

They were their each other's first love.

When he smiled at her, her world lit up.

When she smiled at all, he saw everything beautiful at once.

He had to leave.

She had to stay.

They tried to stay in touch but it didn't work out.

He came back for her.

She wasn't the same.

His love for lasted through the year he was gone but when he came back she wasn't the same and the love he carried for was dead on arrival.
