Prologue

Nikata never thought that she would ever have a cub. However, when she saw the young miracle laying beside him, she couldn't imagine living life without this little bear, Koda. Their journey continues to the salmon run where they meet family, new friends, and plenty of challenges along the way. The most dangerous danger has, and always will be though, man.

(Takes place before Koda's mother is killed and I've added a few of my own characters. There really isn't much about their backstory and Koda's mother doesn't even have a name. I filled in some gaps and I tried to keep it as close to the facts as possible.
