Chapter 1

Reen is a young man suffering with Porphyria, medical vampirism, through the post-WWIII nuclear winter. Unable to afford proper medical supplies, Reen, his mother, and his best friend Liam aid him in his illness, as Reen collects blood to sustain himself. First drinking the blood of animals, and then being employed as a hired gun and taking human blood as a spoil, Reen becomes a vampiric outcast to all but those who know him best. However, when 19 year old Liam mysteriously vanishes, it is Reen's only desire to survive the wilderness and bring him back.
