There had been two packs in The Valley long before Nika was born, and he always assumed they would be there long after he passed. However, that changes when he and his sister, Brina, find a book documenting the brith if their pack. It tells a tale of suspicion and darkness, and eventually, the separation into the two packs they know today: Winter, and Summer.

The book also foretells an inevitable doom, waiting to befall upon the packs. Nika and Brina take it upon themselves to save their packs, but has their naïvety led them to their downfalls?
