Chapter 1 - A Snake Sheds Its Skin And Smiles At You

Dazok doesn't like people. He finds being around people unnecessary. He is never one to be dependent or close to someone else and that's the way he wants it.

To everyone else the man would be described as bitter and cold. Anything but kind-hearted. He doesn't do anything for anyone and he doesn't expect things back. Now he's content with where he is, being a bookstore clerk is more than enough for him.

When suddenly things start to take a turn for the worst and his life gets disrupted, making one careless choice broke every rule in his book. And now he's got a pirate captain's eyes set on him. He tries as hell to fight off the Captain's kindness, but he's beginning to understand that once the younger man has his eyes on something, he will never look away.

Smiling up at the older man,
his eyes only told him
"Once I make a promise,
it stays with me forever."
And the other looked at him
Signs of anger show themselves
Clear as day, he barks back
Like a lion baring his teeth.
Eyes lit and bright, ready to pounce again
if anyone dares to come close.
The Captain stands there, just grinning
in nothing but delight.
"Didn't I tell you already?
It'll stay with me forever.
And I'm not going anywhere. I'll be right here,
whether you like it or not."
