Years after the Great War, Roslyn Burton returns from her self-isolation to serve the Birmingham Police Force. The move was a bid to reconcile with her father, a renowned General in the war who has contracted a recurring illness.

Surprisingly, her choice has reconnected her to an old best mate, Thomas Shelby, now wealthier and married. Despite this, they have grown closer. But anyone who gets close to Thomas always dangles on the edge of death, trapped in dangerous games in the name of ambitions. To what extent will Roslyn go for the man she has once called the love of her life?
