The one who leaves

The gigantic plains of the west coast were hope for many but not for Victorina and her kin. Not anymore. They had spent five years at the border of Nevada and all their dreams had vanished. They had faced too much: robbers, starvation, bankruptcy, drought and finally disease. Cholera had struck their town yet the imminent arrival of new settlers could change everything...
