The Taking: Prologue

The world was at Bexley's finger tips the day the social worker matched her with the immensely wealthy Redfords. While this may seem like a dream come true, she realizes that the Redford's fortune is diminishing at an alarming rate, and she is simply a pawn to ensure they don't go bankrupt.

The fear of her scheming family and demented betrothed force her to run. She takes refuge in the curious town of Pine Ridge where a petulant policeman takes on the roll of safeguard. The handsome man with illuminated eyes begins causing her to wonder if she's simply dealing with human beings- or another animal entirely.
