Nivenah Gray has a passion for singing, but desperately hopes no one will ever learn about her singing ability. However, her best friend, Serena Johnson, dreams of being a famous singer, but is tone deaf. One day she begs Nivenah to secretly sing for her at a restaurant event and reluctantly, Nivenah agrees. And from that day on, Nivenah is stuck singing in the basement of the restaurant into a mic while Serena pretends to sing on stage, leaving Serena rising to fame and Nivenah left to deal with the suspicions of the owner of the restaurant's son, Carson Cross.
