Forest

The afternoon sun sets in such a way that the forest is illuminated in dark blue.

Kandis gazed across the mountain of trees, the once blue heaven was now a burning hell. The flames extended far into the sky. Her blood boiled. All their efforts, for this.

"Isaac will pay," she mumbled, "I will make sure he suffers."

A world at war, a hero and a villain. All that's left is a happily ever after, but not all stories end like that. Kandis' world has burned to the ground, will a hero arise from the ashes or will existences continue to smolder.
