He had prophesied to find his mate by a witch that was helping him. He didn't believe in mates. He'd always heard of them but he didn't live in a pack and wasn't around much werewolves. They were very rare these days. But he continues to search. That's why he was sticking around in Mystic falls. He was looking for her. He just had a feeling to be there. He killed Tyler Lockwood mom trying to get information about Tyler's sister. She was out with her uncle in different packs and moving around.
