Avengers Tower has the distinct feeling of a mausoleum when he gets it back, empty and quiet with no JARVIS to greet him and no team to tease. It's weird at first, Tony will admit, but then he invites them back, and slowly, oh so slowly, they accept. One by one they just... show up. Back in their old rooms like they'd never left. It's nice, makes the cold feeling in his chest dissipate the slightest bit, even though Steve won't quite look him in the eye and even the slightest bit of movement towards Barnes makes the man flinch. But he'll take it, he'll take their festering wounds and bitter resentment and he'll fix it, make it like it used to be, grab all the jagged, broken parts of their fucked up family and put them back together again. Things will get better. Things do get better. Until it all comes falling apart again with two little words. "Hail Hydra." (Currently being rewritten and under heavy (HEAVY) editing.
