Her only friend was her older sister, and her parents were hardly around. When the first Quarter Quell made its appearance, all district citizens of Panem were instructed to elect a fellow tribute of their district to enter the deadly arena. Reaping Day arrived; terror wrapped its relentless tentacles around Harper as she noticed more and more smirks and sly grins being passed her way before the election. Unfortunately for her, it didn't take long for her to realize why.
