Harry Potter was left with the Dursleys after Dumbledore decided that Edward potter was the boy-who-lived. With Harry away, there would be no distractions for Edward and he can start his training. Harry was well loved and cherished by his Aunt,Uncle and cousin and when he was of age to go to Hogwarts, his parents come back for him
