When Layla Keegan arrives at Brookvale High School, her every step is followed by whispers and gossip as to the real reason she left her previous school. Withdrawn and silent - and unknown to her new classmates - still suffering from the trauma of seeing her best friend die in tragic circumstances, Layla appears every inch the typical outsider.

Yet her appearance at 'The Brook' sets in motion a chain of events which ends in tragedy for one school student, and bring home the damage wrought by bullying to the wider school community.
