Prologue

After the fourth prophesied war, humans seized control of Dagarath, and took the land's previous inhabitants, the magic-bound Shion, as slaves.

As the populations grew and expanded, people became fearful that the final war, the Resolution, would occur as a mass revolt of Shion but without any suspicious activity or aggression, families kept their slaves with little worry.

One night as panic bells chime from within the city, word of a thief and runaway Shion picks its way around the palace, and the prince himself is quick to smother the gossip. However, when the thief and Shion are captured and brought together for disposal, it becomes clear the thief himself hides more secrets than even he ever understood.
