Description
Kira finds an angel-bird girl living in a cave on Sakhalin Island. Kira also has a new baby brother who is sick due to his critical heart condition. It is not sure whether the baby will survive. Kira deeply cares about her brother, so this situation puts her under an extraordinary amount of stress. Frustrated with her home life, she finds a new hobby - bird-watching. On a hiking trip, she falls into an underground cave and finds a bird-girl, whom Kira decides to call Manu. Manu is a mystery and a wonder of all things in the world that Kira doesn't know about. Kira discovers that Manu has wings. She learns about ornithology with her new acentric friend named India. India is homeschooled and interested in nature, painting, and poetry. The girl looks after the birds living in her garden, and she shows Kira the beauty of nature. Kira grows closer to her and decides to let her know about Manu. Together they plan to help Manu get out of the cave and away from humans. They bring her to an abandoned lighthouse to keep her safe. Kira, India, and Manu develop a special bond together. The wings giving them the idea that Manu is a fallen angel, but Manu also seems to be the product of a strange evolution. They each try to figure out where Manu comes from and what she is exactly.
