"Forgive me, Father," Frank began with his eyes shut delicately shut. He lifted the black veil of the confessional separating him and Gerard, who looked at him timidly. "For I have sinned" Frank finished leaning in the close the distance between them. Gerard cupped his jaw with both hands, placing his thumbs over Frank's lips and looked at him guiltily and with pity as he stopped Frank from connecting their lips.
"I'm sorry Fra- I can't. I'm a priest. I have nothing without this. I'm already risking so much by performing exorcisms on your house unauthorized by the Vatican." Gerard spoke lightly as if trying to not shatter Frank with the weight of his words.
