There's this terrifying sense of loss that invades them, the fear that it's all destinated to end, that they'll be the only ones getting burnt by a feeling they can't control. That pushes them to get closer, but when they're about to touch, it distances them again.

Too many times the boy has been fooled.

Too many times the fox has fooled.

Both, scared and small, filled with silence. They just look at each other.
