Description

This is the hunt for the book that started the war. In a world where the gods lost their memory and everything fell apart. A delver and a book seller hold the keys to putting it all back together even if they don't know it yet. Welcome to the world of Amaus. It's gonna be a bit of a dive. [Excerpt] "The Ice never breaks of its own accord." The title of the noble Charters of Avarice. I'd always found it to be an incredibly stupid title, and made a point of shelving "The Natural phenomena of water and its proposed states." by William Dumonde next to it. Its supposed to mean something like : "change and sacrifice are never greeted willingly." The first title I mean. The second is my Natural objection to the first. I mean, the saying is stupid for a host of reasons. What slave wouldn't embrace a change of station? What family wouldn't see the constant food shortages change for the better? In a way though.... It's the perfect title for a "Noble Aristocracy." Surely no one would have willing watched our proud independent kingdom descend into serfdom. Common people working in slave debt to the upper crust. So in that sense no. No "Noble Aristocracy" would welcome change. Just as a slave lives at the bottom and has no further to fall. A noble has no prospects except to fall.
