Emory White was never 'safe'. She was a train wreck, and as much as she tried, that inner anarchy began to seep out onto the people she loved. So she stopped loving. Until one day Nate, a small town boy on a summer stay in the city, convinces her to come back to his hometown with him. She figured maybe she could come to terms with her life if her past wasn't constantly glaring her in the face; she was wrong. Nate's town isn't safe. It's terribly old, and even when she's alone, Emory feels watched. Her life starts getting stranger and stranger, spiraling out of control until she can't tell fact from fiction; reality from a nightmare. Could what happens in that small town break Emory for good?
