...."Dinner," I say bitterly. I think to myself that it is obviously dinner, but I am too afraid to
say it. At that moment I knew he was on drugs because of the look in his eyes. I could never
forget the eyes of a person that is on drugs.
"Do you not think I know what dinner is?" He says irritated. "I asked for a Stromboli,
Yasmeen!"
"I know that, I didn't have time to make Stromboli today." I say as I try not to be spiteful.
He chuckles and replies, "Just like how you failed to carry my child." He bangs his fist on
the table and pushes the plate away. Then he says, "I'm sorry. It is my fault for expecting so
much from you." ...
