Description
The War of the Ring still casts its shadow upon those that fought in it, those that lost loved ones in it. Those that still fight the War in their nightmares. Those that didn't go to War, but fought that came to them. Bree land has recovered from its own part in the tale, but Kaya, daughter of Balar, has not. Her older brother died at the Pelennor fields, her father had returned a broken man. And she, she yearns to spread her wings. But there is also family, and duty, and she always thought those more important than following her own heart. But then strange tidings from the North reach them. News that might send Kaya off on a totally different path after all. (This story was posted years ago on theonering.com's messageboard. My writing since then has changed - I hope for the better - but still this story is dear to me)
