Blood, after all, is thicker than water and if keeping Gauri meant keeping his family safe from the vulture Svetlana then Om will stay married to Gauri.
All Gauri wanted was safety. For the nightmare to end. For her mother to be taken care of.
When Om saved her and married her new wants filled her. Acceptance. A family.
Om offers it all to her, with strings attached.
Gauri accepts the fragile compromise.

The AU where Gauri finds Acceptance and Om finds Solace but not in the way they expected.
