After a long tired war with the Creators, billions of Toons are massacred and millions are haunted after the war with the vile memory of Joey Drew; a Creator who went rogue to hate, and assassinate every toon in sight after a fall out with his brother Henry. That includes to try to kill his own creations. Bendy is among his creations. So after years of calmly living underground with his friends-- never aging, and never forgetting the horrors they've faced-- when he sees Joey return from the dead all he can do is run.
