Being the daughter of the insane baby-snatching Mother Gothel was not easy. Neither was being a single teenage mother. Or, being stuck on a dirty, crumbling island with a bunch of evil villains and their wicked children.

Unfortunately, Gemma Gothel had to deal with all of the above, and more.

She desperately wanted to raise her daughter in a better place, to be a better person, but, on the Isle of the Lost, it seemed impossible. However, that may not be so.

How, you ask? Well, it all started with a silly proclamation from a soon-to-be king...
