al-Falaaq

The first poem I ever wrote, back in 1989. The title references Surah 113, ayat 1-3 of the Qur'an, which reads (Pickthall translation - http://www.alim.org/library/quran/surah/english/113/PIK):

Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of Daybreak
From the evil of that which He created;
From the evil of the darkness when it is intense
