"You can't do this," he whimpered. "You complete me Vaani. I tell myself I won't think about you, but I'm only lying to myself."
"Ruel," I say softly, finally looking into his eyes, oh his eyes, they remind me of the first time we met. Maybe, I hope, the quieter I say it, the less it'll hurt. "Maybe we're broken by design." I whisper and he lets out another choked sob. My heart breaks in two and I look away.
"I love you but it's for the best. For the both of us."
