My Cloak Of Green Chapter 1

I grew up with people belittling me, telling me I wouldn't be able to live up to my fathers standards. I knew I wouldn't be able to, after all I was a girl, girls were weak, at least I was told they were. And They never used my name, I can't even remember it now, it was always bitch, cow, slut, whore, so to escape the words that made my cage, I would leave the walls, I never knew how dangerous it was til that day.

I had escaped, left the walls that protected our homes and entered a forest, when it happened. Human like creatures entered the walls, devouring people. I watched them enter, and then there was screams, screams of pain, anguish, and horror. That night I feel asleep with tears running down my face, up a tree, not worried about my past abuse, but about the future, and how I would survive.
