Prolouge - Nobody

Fourteen years old and confused. Young Esmé Rivers lives with a chaotic family, including a sluggish brother and a mother who can't cope at times. Now, starting a fresh day at school, she is trying to have faith that her constant torment of being a nobody other the years will end, and tries to "follow the crowd".
