September 15, 1967

It was the summer of 1967. I had a great time in London. Except for having to live in an all girls orphanage for my entire life, because I'm one of those special people whose parents never wanted them. The lady that ran the place treated us all like scum, like we were nothing more than dust.

There were 13 of us in all, another reason she decided to treat us like squished flies. She hated my in particular because I was the only one with freckles, and she saw that as a curse.

That's why I'm here. In a luggage train car. Getting as far away from that wretched place as I can.
