It was in the dead of night that I saw him. I was walking back home to my drunk good for nothing father, I knew when I got there he would beat me. But I told myself that it wouldn't matter in the end... I still had my step brothers rope if need be. That's when I heard foot steps behind me. I didn't care who it was. I just knew that whatever they wanted I didn't have, or so I thought... "Hey, do you mind if I walk with you?" A young, male voice said as they caught up with me. My head was down and my hoodie was up so I just shrugged. After a few minutes of silence he broke it "I'm John, you are..?" "Alexander." It wouldn't have mattered if I told him my real name, so why not. "That's a handsome name.." he muttered. I physically stopped, I could feel my face heating up. Did he just..? I saw him afew steps ahead of me and smiled. "I did." Fuck me and my habit of talking to myself. He chuckled "You weren't talking to yourself Alexander." At this point I took a few steps back, but rather than him taking a-few steps forward, he levitates towards me. "W-who are you..." I manage to say. "I'm John Laurens.
