A future of people where, when they are born, people are picked whether they will be treated as humans or owned and molded into their owner's whims.

It starts off simple. An innocent, unseeming boy named Doe is thrust into a world in which he's treated like an animal, but the world is going to get much much darker. As he navigates this world he meets people from all walks of life who know what he's been through and they all understand one thing.
