Description
Eons ago, on a planet called Cybertron, a war was waged over the planet's main resource, energon. The decepticons, led by Megatron, once they received an advantage, began hunting the Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, down one by one. As a countermeasure, he issued an order that stated all Autobot messenger scouts must be accompanied by another Autobot belonging to their Elite Guard division. A scout named Bumblebee who was carrying vital information for the Autobot cause was accompanied by Elite Guard Lieutenant Hot Rod, when they were ambushed. Tortured for cycles, Bee and Hot Rod would not talk, resulting in Bee's voice box being ripped out. Hot Rod was able to stop the torture only by sacrificing his own life.
