Prologue

"I hate my freckles." I look down at my shoes, going against the force of his hands cupping my cheeks. He places his thumb under my chin and tilts my head so my gray eyes and his blue eyes interlock.

"Well I love every one of them." He kisses my cheek. "Every. Single. One." He kisses my other cheek.

And when he presses his forehead against mine, I swear everything around us, everything we know, have heard, have learned, all goes away. We are one.
