Athena is a 16 year old orphan living in Peoria, Illinois along with hundreds of other orphans at a place that she has learned to call home, Ashley Down's Girls Orphanage. Wesley is an 18 year old who ran away from his abusive household on the outskirts of Darwin, Australia at the age of 11. With huge forest fires, earthquakes, and splits forming in the Earth, are the two teens meant to be more than strangers?
