Description
It was two months into the school year, with Halloween looming just around the corner, and because of who I am as a person, I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings. I was so engrossed in the book that I had found online that I didn't even notice the lobby was being decorated with streamers and papier-mâché pumpkins for the upcoming holiday. I also didn't realize that right in front of me was a ladder. And on that ladder was a person. A person who shouted an expletive when I knocked over said ladder, sending him sprawling to the floor in pain. If there's one thing that can get your attention, it's someone shouting the f-word very loudly as they fall to the floor in front of you. ~~~ When Robyn Abbott runs (literally) into Daniel Coine, they find themselves in a sticky situation. Robyn feels horrible about breaking his leg and costing him his community service hours with the campus decorating committee, although he won't admit to her why he needs the hours in the first place. A solution is found when Robyn realizes she's failing Algebra, and a trip to the academic counselor proves that Daniel is in the top of his class and has plenty of time to tutor her now that he's temporarily impaired. She can't stand his blunt pessimism and laziness, and he can't stand her blind optimism and perfectionism. But with long nights and lots of hours spent together, secrets begin to come to light, and Robyn eventually realizes they may have far more in common than she originally anticipated.
