Lauren Jauregui, a brilliant FBI agent with a take-no-prisoners mindset, is on a wild goose chase. Well, that is, if wild goose chases involved hunting down a notorious serial killer, then yes, Lauren is on the chase. And who might she be chasing, you ask? The Vigilante. An infamous serial killer known to have an affinity for brutally dismembering criminals. Lauren can feel the chase is coming to a close, until a chloroform-soaked rag is shoved into her mouth, and her world is turned black, waking up to a pair of smoldering chocolate eyes.
