"I am not one to share the spotlight anymore," you chimed, though your tone was bittersweet. "But don't worry... I'll let you enjoy yourself."

Your devious smile had fallen after you sashayed towards the darkness, the heels of your boots steadily clicking against the floor.

"Before my friend changes their mind," you added. You were sure everyone would have picked up on the underlying danger in your voice if you hadn't whispered.
