Based on the 1895 novel by H.G. Wells, The Time Machine: The Narrator's Journey takes place 50 years after The Time Machine. The Narrator from the first book has waited many years for the Time Traveller to return. He'd visit the old laboratory everyday. One day, an old memento of the Time Traveller returns to the lab, and it sends the Narrator on his journey.

Before reading this short story, I recommend reading H.G. Well's book The Time Machine to learn about the Time Traveller, then come back and see the Narrator journey through time.
