The Runaway

Centuries ago, space travel became a way to communicate with other planets and their inhabitants. Each of their civilizations had something to gain from this momentous discovery; millennia-old problems seemed to disappear with another's technology. However, as exciting as it was to travel between planets something went ignored. Foreign organisms devoured natural plant life causing an imbalance in ecosystems and inevitability destroying planets. Unfortunately, some planets weren't fast enough and never recovered. The remaining planets organized troops to prevent people from leaving to ensure mass planetary destruction won't occur again. Of course, some still slip through the cracks.
