The Pride Lands, a kingdom of animals of many types and after many years of his rule it is now time for Simba to choose the new king. Kopa. Lost, forgotten, the heir to running the wild. in the competition for the next ruler of the pride lands, Kopa, Simba's son, is named future king over his cousin, Kovu. Among those candidates is Kopa, Simba's firstborn, Kovu and Nuka, the cubs of Zira and Taka. Fearing for time to repeat itself Simba declares Kopa as the heir, anxious about Kovu inheriting Scar's traits. However not everyone is satisfied with the new heir, especially Zira. As Kopa faces the new world of responsibility he also is putting himself in danger. Kovu being the son of Taka and Zira has his mother fighting for his right to rule, so when Kopa returns to the den as future king, his well known sister Kiara just born and Zira and his mother fighting. That very night he has a dream that would change his life forever.
