Prologue: The beginning

Kale Connor was thrown into a war and forced to fight for survival. Now five years after seeing such horrible events he still feels the pain of having to live day to day in fear and having the thoughts "it's kill or be killed" drilled into his head. He's suffered tremendously and still has painful nightmares. Then he meets Kodak, a stubborn girl with a bright personality, can Kale ever learn to trust again or even to love again?
