Description
Alesha Dixon had a leg amputated from cancer when she was fifteen and she knows the comments that are made about it. Peg leg, pirate, freak. She's heard them all and hates it. Swimming is the only thing that's able to make her forget the comments and make her feel normal until she meets a fellow new teacher, Amanda Holden. Amanda Holden was born with a port-wine stain covering over half her face. She knows the comments that are made about it. Freak, alien. She's tried to cover up the birthmark with makeup and she does it even though it doesn't work well. She knows she different from every teacher at the school she's going to work at except for one other teacher, Alesha Dixon. Maybe, just maybe, they can make each other feel good about their different bodies.
