Amelia was adopted by Esther at a very young age. She and Rebekah were best friends and when Esther and Mikael decided that they had to turn their family into vampires they had to turn Amelia too. After decades Klaus returns to New Orleans to take back his city from Marcel and Amelia and Rebekah with Elijah return too only to find a werewolf carrying Klaus' child.
