PROLOGUE • Outside Buenos Aires, Argentina, Recent Past

For mature readers. Subject matter may offend certain sensibilities, but is in no way intended to do so. My first attempt at a full-length novel.

Henry Rosenthal is the great-grandson of Heinrich Müller, a former SS officer who spent his wartime service as part of the occupying forces in Paris. There, he kept a beguiling French mistress who also happened to spy and act as a member of the French Resistance.

Now, some eighty years later, the old Nazi's death in Buenos Aires, Argentina, results in his only legitimate offspring, Henry, being summoned to receive his inheritance and, with it, unknowingly at first, the legacy of evil which clings to an artifact willed to him.

Henry begins by experiencing strange, disconcertingly vivid dreams and then, in time, waking flashbacks to his great-grandfather's life. These phenomena begin to have tangible influence over his personality and impulses, causing Henry to question both his ethics and even his sense of morality.

All the while, he is being stalked by Elisheva, an Israeli agent fanatically dedicated to eliminating all remaining traces of the Third Reich and its lingering influence.

My attempt to blend disparate genres that might, at first glance, seem incompatible with the themes expressed, but I am confident that I can carry this off.

I will be publishing chapters regularly, likely weekly, and would appreciate any and all comments, reviews and opinions.
