I held my worn out jacket closer as the wind blew. It was nearly fall, the winds are starting to get colder and I knew that I will have to work extra hours to afford new jacket and maybe even a new blanket for my baby boy. The economy has been really bad lately. Prices were rising and employers would either cut back salaries or lay off employees. Unfortunately, the latter one applied on two previous jobs I had. They were paying good enough to keep a roof above our heads and keep my baby boy fed all the time. My current job, unfortunately, isn't paying as much. Not a lot of companies are willing to hire people with limited work experience, even more so the ex wife of the founder and CEO of a multi-million dollar company. Xavier Montero. His name itself will make businessmen cower in fear. No one would dare to even try and cross him. He also happened to be the man I once loved- the father of our child. The same child that he didn't even know existed. I rush home, fearing for the worst. I did what I had to do to survive.
